I Will Make You Fishers of Men

Today was a day just like any other.

The men sighed. Their boat rocked over a series of small, blue, waves. Their weathered hands deftly tossed a fishing net into the water. The men had been fishing for so long that their old tunics had been starched with a layer of salt so thick that no water could wash out.

Fishing left the men with disheveled clothes, unkempt beards, and coarse hands. But it brought food to the table, so neither man could complain.

These two men were brothers.

The older brother’s name was Simon. The younger brother’s name was Andrew. And today was the day that they would meet Jesus.
