In North Korea, all citizens are subject to weekly self-criticism meetings whereby they must criticize themselves before the government. North Koreans learn to “say the right things” during these meetings, but their hearts may be very far away from their words.

Confessing your sins before God is very different from confession in North Korea. Saying the right things with no change of heart is not what God is looking for.

A heart change can only come from God and it begins by preparing our hearts before God.  We do this by being humble, honest and willing to allow God to transform our thoughts and actions.
